The 5 Best Dog Daycare Services in Canberra for Busy Pet Parents!

Play Areas and Supervision: A safe yard stops scuffles before they start and gives high-energy breeds room to burn off steam. We looked at how each facility divides its play zones and whether trained staff stay in the yards with the dogs.

Entry Rules and Health Support: Every dog has different needs, especially young puppies or older pets on daily pills. Our team checked each provider's rules on desexing, breed sizes, and whether they can give medications.

Drop-Off Flexibility and Transport: Tight work hours or sudden weekend plans mean you need a schedule that fits your routine without extra stress. We compared opening hours, booking rules, and extras like pick-up taxis.

Behaviour and Enrichment Focus: Throwing twenty dogs into an empty pen can overwhelm anxious pets and teach bad habits. We favoured centres that build confidence through structured play, training games, and quiet rest zones.

Extra Services and Perks: Getting your dog washed or clipped during their play day saves you an extra weekend errand. We checked which spots bundle in perks like nail trims, bath discounts, or full grooming options.

Leaving a pair of sad puppy eyes at the front door makes my morning commute feel 10 times longer. If you own an energetic breed or a clingy rescue, you know that an eight-hour workday often ends with chewed cushions and a very guilty conscience.

Good care gives your pup a proper outlet whilst you’re at work, and dog boarding is more than what you need when you’re only out for a weekend trip. To help you and your pup, we researched the best dog daycare spots in Canberra.

Let’s dive in and see which one is best for your furry friend!

She LOVES going so for me thats completely worth it

Was very hesitiant sending socks here for puppy daycare first time but every drop off has been a breeze since then. She LOVES going so for me thats completely worth it. Ive taken her to the dog boarding when we go away and again its the same she loves it doesnt want to leave. We had here there for 4 days and i was very anxious but every photo they sent she was nothing but smiles. Being an owner of a very energetic breed its a lifesaver knowing she has a place she loves so much.

We’ll definitely be back!

This was my dogs’ first experience at doggy daycare, and they seemed to have had an absolute ball! They came home happy and very tired after a big day of playing and making new friends.

The staff were friendly, understanding and polite, which made me feel really comfortable leaving my pooches in their care. It’s reassuring knowing they’re being well looked after while having plenty of fun. We’ll definitely be back!

Dogs spend the day climbing on recycled community gear like barrels and ramps, or splashing in shell pools. To top it off, the team happily gives prescribed medication on schedule.

Marley loved going there for daycare

My boy Marley and I are newish to Canberra, so it was really important to find a kind, reliable, and loving dog sitter. Through Mad Paws I found Serena, and the experience has been wonderful.

Marley loved going there for daycare, and when I was away, I received regular updates and photos which gave me so much peace of mind.

Address: 148 Parkwood Road, Holt

Contact: 02 6287 3955

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Pups4Fun builds their Northside programme around behaviour skills like impulse control and recall through distraction. Instead of leaving dogs to run wild, their experienced crew uses structured social time to teach proper manners.

They even offer extra classes like Scent Work and Fun-Gility so energetic breeds have plenty to do. To boot, the facility has wide turfed yards for sprinting, climbing gear, and big sandpits made for digging.

Definitely recommend!

Since starting at the Northside daycare program, our adopted dog has settled down, socialised and just had the best time! She dashes to the gates every time and comes home exhausted. The staff are super friendly and care for each dog expertly. Definitely recommend!

We believe that this has truly helped them become more social dogs

They started at their Specialised Day Care, attended their puppy class and have now graduated to their Social Dog Day Care at 10months old. They absolutely love day care day and enjoy the company of their dog friends and trainers. We believe that this has truly helped them become more social dogs and boosted their confidence in trying new things.
